A Celebration of Bess & Luke's First Baby!

When my friend Louise and I asked Bess if she was planning on having a baby shower and she said no, we decided to take matters into our own hands! With Bess carrying the first baby on both sides of the family we wanted to ensure it was celebrated and that she was made to feel special.
Bess is such a beautiful person as was conscious guests had attended their wedding the November before and didn't want them to worry about gifts. Instead guests were asked to bring along an old bed time story to add to their nursery collection. With Bess also being a teacher we thought this was the most beautiful idea and so the theme was carried through into our dessert table styling and invitations.
We wanted everyone to relax and enjoy the day so it was all a surprise when she walked in. The Fitzroy Bowls Club were so accommodating and had the perfect back drop to allow our table to pop out. They also supplied sandwiches which was perfect for our 1.30pm start time.
The table was a collaboration of many of our amazing industry friends, all photographed by the super talented My Little Tribe. We just love My Little Tribe's attention to detail at events and as you will see Clare captured the day beautifully.
Love JK created the stationery which featured the customised invitation that certainly set the scene for Bess' family and friends before they arrived. Jen's beautiful design was exactly what we were looking for. Bright, fun, modern and stylish, just like our gorgeous friend. We then used Love JK's "Oh baby" bunting and tent cards on the table to label our desserts.
We filled the table with easy to serve treats such as Raspberry & Lemon Macarons, Blueberry, Strawberry & Pineapple Flavoured Donuts and a Deconstructed Croquembouche. (For pricing see below)
Merc + Jone's brought our vision to life creating an "Oh Boy" paper cake topper which sat among the Chantilly Cream filled Profiteroles to signify Bess' boy to be! We just love Nic's toppers and think they are a fabulous way in integrate a focal point on a table.
The Party Parlour sent down the perfect array of lanterns, Poppies For Grace honeycombs, purple chocolate pearls, blue jelly beans, green and pink freckles which could not have tied in better on the Mini Party People white trestle. We just adore this trestle which can be hired and delivered to your next event. It is a fabulous size and can be used just as it is or with a table cloth.
I hunted high and low for the perfect books to compliment our dessert table and finally had success at Pamela Bakes' Page Two Book Shop in Fitzroy. With a background in foodie events she totally understood my brief and hand selected the beautiful books which we now offer for hire along with all of the of the cake stands and lolly jars pictured below.
Les (Bess' mother in law) arrived early to assist which was wonderful and allowed her to feel a part of the day. When she sat down to place the take home biscuits within their packaging, there were tears of joy as she saw the "and then there were three" custom edible images we created. We developed the idea which flowed on from the book theme and enlisted team Love JK to tie it in with the rest of their beautiful stationery. It was such a special moment. Once placed in cello bags and finished with their Love JK toppers and swing tags, they made for such a special gift for all who attended.
Lastly a huge thank you to Lou, my friend who created the stunning floral arrangements and who helped create Bess' day. You were amazing!
We are very excited to advise that baby Hamish arrived into the world on the 18th of September fighting fit and much loved by all! xx
